Service Description

Dive into the world of robotics and engineering with TruLearn’s High School FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC). During the year students will develop skills such as mechanics, java programming, and business. Students will have the opportunity to build their robot from the ground up. This is an intense class that will take dedication and thinking outside the box. This class is for students dedicated to their work and willing to take on challenges to build a competitive team. There will be work outside of class to complete, which is essential to have a successful team and have the opportunity to advance beyond the qualifier. Students will have a chance to practice not only robot building, but business planning, putting together portfolios and presentations for competition judges, as well as plan events to get themselves out into the community. Not all students have to be involved in building and coding the robot. Each student will have their area of responsibility. Areas of work include business/communication, visual/audio outreach, coding, strategy, and aspects of building to include mechanical, electrical and design. Students will compete in an official FIRST competition in Fairbanks with the opportunity to advance to state. If students advance to state, parents will need make their own travel arrangements as TruLearn does not have transportation at this time. Carpooling and other arrangements can be discussed at a later time
